UConn Huskies vs. Georgetown Hoyas NCAAM prediction, pick for Saturday 1/17/26

The Georgetown Hoyas host the UConn Huskies in a Big East showdown today at 12:00 p.m. ET. UConn has a 17-1 record this season and is currently ranked No. 3 in the latest AP Poll. Meanwhile, Georgetown is 9-8 and is currently on a four-game losing streak.

Here is my best bet for today’s Big East matchup between UConn and Georgetown. On DraftKings Sportsbook, UConn is a -12.5-point favorite with the over/under being 141.5 points.

UConn vs. Georgetown (12:00 p.m. ET)

Since losing to No. 1 Arizona on November 19, UConn has won 13 straight games, with its last seven coming in Big East play. UConn averages just over 79 points per game, but has continued its winning streak with its elite defense. KenPom has UConn’s defensive rating ranked No. 6 in the country. Georgetown is 107th overall on KenPom with a 96th offensive rating and 136th defensive rating.

The Huskies have a deep rotation with five players averaging double digit points this season. Tarris Reed Jr. averages 14.5 points while Solo Ball scored 14.4 per contest. Alex Karaban (13.9 PPG), Braylon Mullins (11.7 PPG), and Silas Demary Jr. (10.1 PPG) round out UConn’s scorers with 10-plus points.

Georgetown is led by veteran guard duo KJ Lewis and Malik Mack, who average 15 and 14.5 points per game. Even though Georgetown has lost four consecutive games, all of them have come by 12 or fewer points. Also, five of their last seven losses have been by 12 or fewer. UConn has beaten its last three opponents by five, 12, and five points. Although UConn is the much more experienced and talented team in this matchup, until they prove their dominance again, it will be hard to back them with this big of a spread.

College Basketball Pick: Georgetown +12.5 (-118)
