Best Jake Tonges prop bet for 49ers vs. Seahawks on Saturday 1/17/26

I’ll be completely honest. When George Kittle went down with an Achilles injury last weekend against the Eagles, I did not think we’d still be writing about the 49ers in the Divisional Round. Yet here we are. San Francisco will take on Seattle for the second time in three weeks, and Jake Tonges will suddenly be a main character.

Below, I list my favorite Tonges prop on the DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s game, which will kickoff at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Jake Tonges 5+ Receptions (+124)

While Tonges only hauled in one of his three targets after Kittle was carted off, we have a pretty notable history of the backup TE excelling when given the opportunity to start. In Week 5, Week 6 and Week 17 of the regular season — the last three games Kittle missed due to injury — Tonges averaged 9.0 targets, 6.7 receptions and 53.0 receiving yards. In fact, in those three contests, Tonges’ 27 targets and 20 catches led all San Francisco skill-position players. That includes Christian McCaffrey.

The 49ers are on the road in Seattle and the team is a touchdown underdog. There’s a reasonable chance that Brock Purdy will be asked to throw more often than usual in a negative script. On top of that, the Seahawks surrendered the fourth-most catches per game to opposing tight ends (6.2) during the regular season, which gives Purdy a weakness to exploit. I think Tonges at plus-money to record at least five receptions is a great value, especially considering he cleared this prop in all three of those aforementioned, Kittle-less contests. Heck, you might even want to consider a ladder bet. Tonges is +248 for six catches and he’s +473 for seven. Just something to ponder.
