In the final game on Friday night’s NBA scoreboard, the Sacramento Kings welcome in the Washington Wizards to the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. If you’re staying up late and following along or catching the game on League Pass, there are some strong player prop bets to consider, so let’s take a look at some of the recent trends and player production to consider.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Kings are 6.5-point home favorites, with the point total set at 234.5.
The Kings are 11-30 on the season after winning three straight home games, including an 11-point win over the Knicks on Wednesday. While the Kings have been winning, the Wizards made headlines with their trade for Trae Young, who is still not available while returning from injury. The Wizards have dropped four straight, sliding to 10-29, the second-worst mark in the Eastern Conference.
Let’s take a look at this rematch and find a few player prop bets that make sense for Friday night’s contest.
Wizards vs. Kings Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
DeMar DeRozan over 20.5 points (-111) + Assists (-112)
While the big story to watch will be the potential return of Domantas Sabonis (knee, questionable), it has been DeRozan that has been carrying the Kings’ offense in their recent success.
DeRozan is averaging 19.1 points per game on the season, but he has scored at least 21 points in five straight games. On Wednesday against the Knicks, he had 27 points in 41 minutes, while shooting 7-for-16 from the field.
He has been extremely efficient during his recent scoring production, scoring 126 points on just 96 shots from the field and shooting 49% from the field. The Wizards usually don’t slow anyone down on defense, so DeRozan should be able to keep rolling, which will allow Sabonis to work back in slowly.
Tre Johnson over 2.5 Assists (+108)
The Wizards rotation is always an adventure, and with a back-to-back scheduled for Saturday, who knows how the game will unfold? Recently, though, the team has been giving extra run to rookie Tre Johnson, who has shown off a very diverse skill set.
While his scoring has gotten plenty of attention and his points prop has climbed, he’s also dishing out plenty of dimes. He has at least three assists in five of his last six games and at least two assists in 11 of his last 12 contests.
He has started 10 straight games for the Wizards, averaging 2.8 assists in 26.6 minutes per game. Johnson should get enough playing time with Bilal Coulibaly (back) and Khris Middleton (knee) out for this game, that he has a strong chance to go over this prop line once again.
Carlton Carrington under 11.5 points (-104)
Carrington is getting plenty of playing time while Trae recovers, but he isn’t doing much scoring at all. He shot just 1-for-11 from the field against the Clippers on Wednesday and finished with just four points in 33 minutes.
In his seven games this month, Carrington has come in under this prop line six times, with the one exception an 18-point outburst against the Sixers. That game was his only start during that stretch, when Kyshawn George was unavailable.
Overall, Carrington is shooting only 32.8% from the field during those seven games, averaging 8.9 points in 29.7 minutes per game. While I like this prop much better after it’s confirmed he’s not starting, I think there’s a good chance he stays under this prop lin either way.
Bonus Parlay Pick: Zach LaVine under 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-111)
LaVine had 31 PRA (points, rebounds and assists) against the Knicks on Tuesday, but he had been under this prop line in seven straight games before that. He is still ramping up after an injury and with Sabonis returning and DeRozan thriving, he will likely stay under this prop line again on Friday.
If you’re looking to use these props to create a Same Game Parlay (SGP) or as part of an SPGx, adding in the under on LaVine’s PRA takes you to an even +1200, as you can see below.
