Devin Booker was able to participate in shoot-around this morning, but he has been ruled out for Thursday’s matchup between the Suns and Pistons with an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, Dillon Brooks ($6,300) missed shoot-around with an illness, but he is expected to play, per the Suns.
Booker is leading Phoenix with 25.2 points and 6.5 assists per game this season while handling a 29.7% usage rate. The Suns are just 1-2 with Booker inactive this season — with both losses coming by at least 19 points. Without Booker, Phoenix’s net rating drops 6.9 points per 100 positions to -1.8.
With Booker sidelined, Brooks will be the Suns’ top option. In the star’s absence, his usage rate rises a team-high 9.2 percentage points to a massive 37.9%. Grayson Allen ($5,200) will likely start in place of Booker, and he should see an expanded usage rate as well. Still, this is a very tough matchup for Brooks and Allen, as the Pistons currently own the NBA’s second-best defensive rating.
Phoenix now sits as a 7.5-point underdog against Detroit on DraftKings Sportsbook after being listed as a 5.5-point underdog this morning.
