Darius Garland won’t return to Wednesday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers after exiting in the third quarter with an apparent ankle injury.

Garland was double-teamed near the three-point line and tried to drive down the right side of the lane. He had the ball poked away from him and seemingly hurt his ankle while attempting to dive for the loose ball.

He was replaced by Craig Porter Jr. with 4:07 left in the period.

Before exiting, Garland contributed 20 points, seven assists, three rebounds, and a steal in 23 minutes of action.

With Sam Merrill getting injured earlier in the game, the Cavaliers are now extremely thin in the backcourt. Porter Jr. will likely be the biggest beneficiary, while Lonzo Ball could also see an uptick in playing time.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
