Cooper Flagg was ruled out of Wednesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets after suffering an apparent ankle injury in the second quarter.
He seemingly injured his left ankle while trying to defend a Peyton Watson drive down the middle of the paint.
He limped off the court but returned to action. However, he did not start the second half and has since been ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
In 15 minutes, Flagg contributed six points, a rebound, an assist, and a block.
Ryan Nembhard started the second half for Flagg. He and Brandon Williams should see an uptick in usage and playing time, while Naji Marshall should shoulder more of the offensive burden as well.
The Mavericks next play Thursday night against the Jazz, then host them once again on Saturday.
