Georgia Bulldogs vs. Ole Miss Rebels prediction, pick for NCAAM on Wednesday 1/14/26

Georgia has built a real January identity, and it’s not subtle. The Bulldogs are 14-2, ranked No. 21, and they play like every possession has a shot clock set to panic. Ole Miss is 9-7, sitting in the SEC middle, and it has lived on thin margins. Six of its losses are single digits, so the hang-around gene is real. This is a tempo game in Athens, and the favorite is trying to turn it into a sprint. Below is my preview, prediction, and pick for tonight’s college basketball game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Georgia vs. Ole Miss prediction, preview

The handicap starts with pace and how it shapes shot volume. Georgia plays at 80.3 possessions per game, while Ole Miss sits at 69.8. Georgia scores 96.4 points per game on a 1.200 offensive efficiency, with a 55.3% eFG and a brutal 61.7% on twos. Ole Miss is solid but slower, at 75.2 points per game on a 1.077 offensive efficiency, with a 51.7% eFG and a 51.4% two-point clip. Georgia’s defense is also stronger, sitting at a 0.932 defensive efficiency compared to Ole Miss at 0.997. If Georgia gets the game into its volume zone, the math starts piling up fast.

The player layer explains where Ole Miss can fight back and where Georgia can snap the rope. Malik Dia (F) is Ole Miss’ engine, and his usage sits at 32.6%, with real glass pressure and rim activity. AJ Storr (G) carries a 27.2% usage rate and just popped for 26 in the Missouri win, while Dia went for 21 and 11 in the same game. Ilias Kamardine (G) is the organizer at 11.1 points and 4.1 assists, and Ole Miss’ best chance is keeping the ball clean through him. Georgia’s counters are volume and finishing. Jeremiah Wilkinson (G) sits at 30.9% usage with a 124.3 offensive rating, and the Bulldogs get scoring from everywhere. Blue Cain (G) is the quiet edge because he converts points at the line, and Marcus Millender (G) has had a real second-half-of-the-season lift with his true shooting sitting at 61.0. If Ole Miss can’t match the guard scoring pace, the deficit grows in bursts.

Ole Miss vs. Georgia pick, best bet

Ole Miss’ cover case is ball security plus a game that doesn’t turn into free throws. Ole Miss’ turnover rate is 13.4% of plays, and Georgia is at 12.1%, so both teams can play clean. The danger is that Georgia also forces mistakes, with a 17.1% forced turnover rate, and it creates extra possessions on the glass at a 35.4% offensive rebounding rate. That is where a ten-and-a-half point spread becomes fragile for the dog, because missed shots become Georgia points anyway. The whistle math also points toward Georgia scoring with the clock stopped. Georgia’s free throw rate sits at 0.421, while Ole Miss is at 0.359, and Ole Miss commits fouls on 23.8% of plays compared to Georgia at 19.3%. If the game gets officiated in a normal SEC way, Georgia should live at the stripe.

I expect Georgia to lean into pace with early offense, because Ole Miss can’t score enough in a slow game to justify trading shots. Georgia should attack the rim, crash hard, and force Ole Miss to rebound under stress for forty minutes. Ole Miss should try to shrink possessions and win with shot-making and low turnovers, but the tempo gap is simply enormous.

I’m laying Georgia -10.5, and I’m calling it Georgia 88, Ole Miss 76.

Best bet: Georgia -10.5 (-115) vs. Ole Miss
