Wednesday offers up an intriguing seven-game, 14-team slate of NBA action. It all gets started early with an Eastern Conference showdown between the Cavaliers and 76ers. Later, the Nikola Jokic-less Nuggets visit the Mavericks. Elsewhere, the Knicks continue their road trip in Sacramento against the Kings.
Which players should bettors consider this evening? Here are my three favorite NBA prop bet picks on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s contests.
Top NBA prop bet picks
Collin Murray-Boyles 11+ rebounds + assists (-101)
Much to the dismay of Raptors fans, Jakob Poeltl remains sidelined with a back injury. The center has missed plenty of time this season, leaving Toronto’s frontcourt vulnerable in his absence. However, Collin Murray-Boyles has done an admirable job stepping into a larger role. The rookie is averaging 11.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists over his last five games. Despite his good, not great, height (6’7″), the power forward plays big.
CMB’s knack for grabbing boards should help out tonight. The Pacers are a mess down low, allowing the most rebounds per game (57.2) to opponents. In addition, Indiana remains without center Isaiah Jackson (concussion). Another Toronto big, Sandro Mamukelashvili, is questionable to play tonight. Should he sit out, Murray-Boyles should enjoy 30+ minutes of playing time. The South Carolina alum has tallied at least 11 rebounds + assists in six of his previous eight outings. Against a subpar defense, there’s no reason to think he can’t do so again on Wednesday.
Cooper Flagg 7+ rebounds (+100)
Anthony Davis is injured, leaving an injury depleted Mavericks squad in shambles. Without AD, rookie Cooper Flagg is the main attraction in Dallas. Despite a shaky first few weeks, the Duke alum is looking the part of a future star. Over his last ten appearances, the wing has posted 20.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists whiles shooting 49% from the field. A fast-paced offense also helps boost those counting stats; Dallas operates at the NBA’s fifth-quickest pace (101.6).
If Nikola Jokic were healthy, tonight’s contest would lean heavily in favor of the Nuggets. As things stand, the visitors are still the favorites heading into this matchup. However, they’re much weaker than usual when it comes to securing boards. Over its previous three games, Denver has allowed 53.0 rebounds to opponents. That’s the 12th-highest mark in basketball during that time. It’s a small sample size to be fair, but not something to ignore, either. Flagg has secured at least seven rebounds in 20 of his 39 games this season. Given the players missing on both sides, the 19-year-old is poised for a repeat performance on Wednesday.
Zach LaVine 3+ three-pointers made (+101)
The contending Knicks will hope to take care of business tonight against a dismal 10-30 Kings squad. Sacramento’s roster is barren, stocked with untested youngsters and stat-compiling veterans. Zach LaVine falls into the latter category. Through 28 games, the veteran is averaging 19.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists. LaVine has delivered stellar 48/39/88 shooting splits, as well. Domantas Sabonis (knee) is still inactive, leaving the guard with more offensive responsibility in SacTown.
New York wields one of the NBA’s better defensive units, especially when at full strength. If there’s one notable weakness for the ‘Bockers, it’s guarding the perimeter. Opponents are knocking down 14.6 three-pointers per game against the Knicks, third-most in basketball. In comparison, LaVine has nailed at least three shots from deep in each of his previous two contests. In fact, the former All-Star has reached this mark in four of his last five outings vs. New York. There’s no reason to think he can’t do so again this evening.
