Wisconsin Badgers vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers College Basketball prediction, preview

The Badgers put the college basketball world on notice over the weekend, when they went on the road and took down an undefeated Michigan team that’s been steamrolling the competition nearly all season. Maybe Wisconsin found something in that game to gain momentum the rest of the season, but it also might be in line for a big time letdown spot on Tuesday night in Minnesota.

Take nothing away from the Badgers, they were fantastic in the win. But they were also just 1-4 in true road games entering the weekend, and have to go to a very difficult place to play. The Golden Gophers are 9-1 at home, with wins as a home underdog over Indiana and Iowa — comparable competition.

That one loss at home happened to come over the weekend as well — a one-point loss in overtime to USC. So you’ll get a motivated and angry version of Minnesota in this game. Offensively, the Gophers can have issues at times, but I expect their defense to keep them in this game at home. This one feels a little gross, but I’ll back the short home dog in a bounce-back spot, in what history tells us could be the ultimate flat spot for the Badgers.

CBB Pick: Minnesota +1.5 (-110)
