Pittsburgh is a three-point home underdog with the game total set at a low 38.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.

While not an elite option at tight end, Pat Freiermuth has carved out a nice role for himself even while splitting time with teammates Jonnu Smith and Darnell Washington. The 27-year-old saw 53 targets in the regular season, hauling in 41 of those for 486 yards and four receiving touchdowns. He averaged 11.9 yards per reception and 6.3 YAC per reception as well, both sixth-best at the position. The last few weeks have been particularly kind to the tight end, recording three or more catches in four consecutive games as well as at least 45 yards in three of those outings.

However, this matchup feels notably difficult against a defense allowing just 185.6 passing yards per game (sixth-best), 6.5 yards per pass (sixth) and a completion rate of just 59.29% (third). Per PFF, Houston also ranks second in safety coverage grade, sixth in linebacker coverage and seventh in cornerback coverage. This defense also allows the seventh-fewest yards to tight ends as well.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Freiermuth’s prop bet lines are set at O/U 3.5 receptions and 31.5 receiving yards with a longest reception of 15.5 yards. His +370 odds to score an anytime touchdown are seventh-shortest of any player in this game.

It’s a tough look facing such a strong defense, especially since the Texans rank first in defensive EPA against throws of 10 yards or less. However, the Steelers do still have the lowest aDOT in the NFL at 6.31 and the second-highest TE target share at 31.7%. Throwing those short and intermediate passes to the big men is a crucial part of the offensive identity, and with Darnell Washington sidelined for the playoffs with a broken arm, there should be more opportunities for Freiermuth to see the ball. I like him to record over 3.5 receptions at plus value here.
