The NFL Playoffs’ Wild Card Round wraps up on Monday night with an AFC clash between the Houston Texans and Pittsburgh Steelers. After a couple days of fantastic and dramatic games, this showdown will hopefully play out in similar fashion.
Houston is a three-point road favorite with the game total set at a low 38.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Here are the best Nico Collins prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Texans vs. Steelers on Monday night’s edition of the NFL Playoffs.
Best Nico Collins prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
The Texans’ offense may not exactly be the pinnacle of consistency, but things certainly look the best when flowing through Nico Collins. One of the NFL’s underrated alphas, the star wideout posted a regular-season campaign of 71 catches for 1,117 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns. The volume may have only ranked 21st among the position, but Collins’ yardage total placed him eighth overall, only solidifying his case as a premier deep threat. He also ranked fifth in yards per reception (15.7) and 16th in aDOT (13.3) while dropping just one pass all season. Given his ability to impact a game while drawing plenty of attention from opposing defensive coordinators, Collins will surely be a focal point of his team’s game plan tonight in a win-or-go-home environment.
In years past, this matchup may have caused some pause when deciding on prop bet picks. However, the Steelers aren’t the standout defense of old and are actually quite weak against the pass. Over the course of the regular season, Pittsburgh allowed 244.9 passing yards per game (29th), 7.3 yards per pass (23rd) and a 64.60% completion rate to opponents (17th). Those marks all bode fairly well for the Texans’ passing attack, though disruption in the trenches may keep quarterback C.J. Stroud off his rhythm at times.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Collins’ prop bet lines are set at O/U 4.5 receptions, 70.5 receiving yards, and a longest reception of 24.5 yards. His +140 odds to score an anytime touchdown are the shortest of any player in this game.
Collins did sit out the final game of the regular season, so in a perfect world, he should feel fresh for the most important game of the campaign thus far. In other good news, his postseason track record does appear quite solid. Over four career playoff games, the star posted at least five catches with seven or more targets in all, racking up yardage totals of 96, 68, 122 and 81. That comes out to an average of 91.8 receiving yards per game in the postseason for Collins, which makes me feel pretty good about my prop pick tonight.
Against the Steelers on Monday, I’m looking for Collins to go over 70.5 receiving yards at -113 odds. His past performances all come close to or exceed this line, and we’ve seen this defense get gashed through the air on many occasions over the course of the regular season. Collins also went over tonight’s yardage line in eight of his 15 appearances so far this year, including six of his last nine games after the Week 8 bye. Against a soft secondary lacking a true lockdown cornerback, the 6-foot-4 wideout should win on plenty of his routes in both the intermediate and deep game to get over this line even if tight end Dalton Schultz and rookie receivers Jayden Higgins or Jaylin Noel absorb some of the targets that would typically go Collins’ way. Stroud should post a quality outing through the air, and no player tends to benefit from that more than his top weapon.
Best Bet: Nico Collins over 70.5 receiving yards (-113)
