What happened to George Kittle? Live injury updates for 49ers vs. Eagles on Sunday 1/11/26

UPDATE: Kittle tore his Achilles.

With 6:03 left in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, George Kittle caught a six-yard pass toward the right sideline. He attempted to turn up the field but suffered an Achilles injury in the process. Kittle exited the game on a cart. and won’t return.

That six-yard reception was the only catch for Kittle on the day.

The loss of Kittle is a huge blow for the 49ers offense as he was second on the team with 90 targets and is an excellent blocker in the run game. Jake Tonges will likely fill in for Kittle at tight end.
