The Jacksonville secondary is a tricky one to handicap. They’re eighth in opponent net yards per pass attempt, and they wrangle a whole lot of interceptions. They ended up 19th in total passing defense as a result, while conceding 25 passing touchdowns.
If the game script holds, there are going to be a lot of points on the board. I expect the Jaguars to sell out to stop the run, using their elite linebacking core to keep a lid on James Cook and the Buffalo ground game. With their playmaking in the secondary, the Jags are comfortable letting the Bills air it out and playing the risk-reward game. That may be worthwhile for Jacksonville if they can make the big defensive plays, but it also leaves a lot of yards out there for the taking.
