The NFL’s Wild Card Weekend continues on Sunday afternoon, starting with an AFC matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium.
With the Chiefs and Ravens out of the playoff picture, the Bills (12–5) have a golden opportunity to make their first Super Bowl appearance in over three decades. But first, they’ll have to down the AFC South champion Jaguars (13–4) on their home turf — leaning on reigning MVP Josh Allen and star running back James Cook.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET. Jacksonville enters as a slight 1.5-point home favorite, while Buffalo sits at -105. The game’s total is set at 51.5 points.
Ahead of the Wild Card matchup between the Bills and Jaguars, here’s my favorite James Cook prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Best James Cook Prop Bet for Bills vs. Jaguars
Best Bet: James Cook Under 79.5 Rush Yards (-111)
James Cook was one of the NFL’s most dominant running backs during the regular season, handling 309 carries (third-most) for a league-leading 1,621 yards and 12 touchdowns. However, it seems increasingly unlikely that the Bills’ star bullies his way past these feisty Jaguars.
Jacksonville boasts a lockdown rush defense that allowed the league’s fewest rushing yards on the second-lowest yards per carry (3.9). The Jaguars tied for an NFL-low in opponent rushes for 20 or more yards (5), and they were one of just three teams not to allow a single rush of 40–plus yards.
No single player surpassed 79.5 rushing yards against the Jaguars this season — and they faced Jonathan Taylor twice.
Considering Jacksonville’s formidable rush defense, the Bills would be wise to lean on reigning MVP Josh Allen to lead them upfield. That should lead to a slow day at the office for Cook on Sunday afternoon.
