Best Christian Watson Prop Bets
Christian Watson has been the Packers’ best receiving threat down the stretch of this season. Watson only played 10 games in the regular season due to injury. However, his return coincided with the Packers losing star tight end Tucker Kraft for the season. Kraft going down was a major blow for the Packers, but Watson emerged as the reliable target that Jordan Love and Malik Willis needed. Over the Packers’ final nine games of the regular season, excluding the season finale when the starters rested, Watson had 468 receiving yards, nearly 200 more than the next-best pass-catcher. If the Packers are going to advance in this postseason, Watson will need to step up and play like a true WR1 for Love.
These two teams have already faced off twice this season. In the second matchup, things went sideways for Green Bay due to Love leaving the game with an injury. Willis played well in relief, but it threw off the normal routine of the Packers’ offense. However, in the first matchup with a healthy Love, Watson had one of his best games of the season. He went for 89 receiving yards and added two touchdowns against the Bears in that game. Watson also ended the regular season on a strong note, going for a season-high 113 yards and a touchdown in his last game against the Ravens.
My favorite Watson prop bet for this game is for him to score a touchdown. He has six touchdowns in his past seven games, including the two against the Bears. The Bears rank 20th in the NFL in defensive EPA/dropback and 24th in defensive dropback success rate. This passing defense has been burned all season, and it should be no different on Saturday night. The Bears also rank 27th in opponent passing touchdown percentage, allowing two-thirds of their opponents’ touchdowns through the air this season. Watson has four touchdowns in six career games against the Bears, more than he has against any other team. He should add one more to that career total in this postseason game against Chicago.
