Anthony Edwards 30+ Points (-132): Edwards is a nightly threat to go off, and his recent form only reinforces that. Over his last 11 outings, the Timberwolves star is averaging 31.5 PPG, with two 40+ point performances and six 30+ point games. His 29.3 PPG on the season ranks seventh in the league, and recent trends continue to lean in the 24-year-old’s favor. Edwards has dropped 31+ points in eight of his last 10 games against teams with a winning record. Plus, he’s knocked down four or more three-pointers in four of his last five matchups against Donovan Mitchell. Silly stat, but we’ll take it.
**Editor’s note: Anthony Edwards (injury maintenance) has been downgraded to questionable for Thursday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Kon Knueppel 20+ Points (+111): The Hornets’ rookie has gotten his NBA career off to a strong start, averaging 19.3 PPG with a 23% usage rate. While the Duke alum struggled from deep in his last outing, knocking down just 27.3% of his threes, Knueppel still owns a 42.9% three-point percentage on the season — the best among all rookies. Setting aside his most recent game, where he finished with 11 points, the 20-year-old had averaged 21.8 PPG in 10 games prior, including six 20+ point performances. Looking at more recent trends, Knueppel has logged 18+ points in each of his last eight appearances against teams with losing records. I like the rook to have a night tonight, and so does the public.
Kel’el Ware 12+ Points (-114): Ware hasn’t been the most consistent in his sophomore season, but he’s still flashed real scoring upside, especially when his three-ball is falling. He averaged 13.1 PPG in December while shooting an absurd 54.8% from deep. In January, that number has dipped to just 18.8% from three, with his scoring down to 9.5 PPG. I’m expecting some positive regression tonight, as he draws a softer matchup against a Chicago Bulls team allowing opponents to shoot 36.7% from beyond the arc (21st) and an average of 15.7 made threes over their last three games. As for the 12+ point mark, the trends are on Ware’s side: the Indiana alum has scored 15+ points in each of the Heat’s last four games against teams with losing records. The public is backing him tonight, and I’m here for it.
