LeBron James Injury Update: 1/7/26 vs. the Spurs

UPDATE: LeBron James (foot; sciatica) has been ruled out tonight vs. the Spurs.

LeBron James ($9,100) has been listed as questionable for Wednesday’s matchup vs. the Spurs with foot and sciatica injuries, which is the second night of a back-to-back for both teams.

James has yet to play both legs of a back-to-back set this season, so the 41-year-old sitting tonight feels likely. James has scored 30+ points in two of his last three starts, and this season, he is averaging 21.7 points, 6.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game with a 26.8% usage rate.

If James is out, Luka Doncic ($12,100) will garner an absurd role, as Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura are also both out due to calf injuries. With James, Reaves and Hachimura off the floor this season, Doncic’s usage rises 7.1 percentage points to a mammoth 45.3% and his assist rate rises 6.1 percentage points to 44.8%, resulting in 1.8 FPTS per minute. Doncic will be a worthy spend for DFS if James sits, while Deandre Ayton ($6,200), Jake LaRavia ($5,500) and Marcus Smart ($4,800) will also be appealing.

The Lakers are 2-1 with James and Reaves inactive this season, but they are a 7.5-point road underdog vs. the Spurs on DraftKings Sportsbook, despite Victor Wembanyama ($9,800; knee) being questionable for San Antonio.
