San Diego State Aztecs vs. Nevada Wolfpack College Basketball prediction, preview
I backed the Aztecs on Saturday night in a late night game in which they hosted Boise State, laying 3.5 with the home favorite. The game closed 4.5 and San Diego State led by 21 points at halftime. Needless to say, I was feeling pretty good.
Welp, the Broncos rallied in the second half to tie the game, and eventually go onto play three overtimes. SDSU won by three points in triple overtime. Tough beat on the bet, but I do think it sets up a nice spot to fade the Aztecs on Tuesday. SDSU doesn’t have a bad loss on the season yet, falling to wagons in Michigan and Arizona, along with a loss as an underdog to Baylor.
However, this will be the Aztecs toughest road test of the season thus far, and it comes on the heels of pulling off a marathon victory in which they came completely undone in the second half. Meanwhile, Nevada has been very solid, sitting at 7-1 at home this season. The Wolfpack have also won eight of their last nine games overall, with the loss as a 3.5-point underdog to Washington.
Since the Washington loss, the Wolfpack have pulled off four outright victories as an underdog — San Francisco, Washington State, Boise State and Colorado State. I felt this set up as a strong spot for Nevada to begin with, but the result on Saturday night in San Diego put this one over the top. The Wolfpack are worth a play on the moneyline as a short home favorite.
