Only Arsenal have collected more home points than Man City this season. The Citizens have won eight of their 10 home games, drawing once and losing once. On the flip side, Brighton haven’t been great on their travels this season. 11 teams have collected more points on their travels than the Seagulls this season. Brighton have won two road games, drawing three times and losing five. That record is going to have to improve significantly if they want a chance at securing a European place by the end of the season.
Brighton have been a bit of a bogey team for Man City in recent matchups. The Seagulls won the reverse fixture 2-1 earlier in the season. Man City have only won two of the last five Premier League games between the teams. Despite that, I still like them to win this one. City are too good at home, and they will feel the pressure of picking up three points after two straight draws and falling six points behind Arsenal at the top of the table. When these teams do meet up, there are usually goals. Three or more goals have been scored in each of the last five games between these teams. Expect goals, and hopefully City can put things right after their recent struggles against Brighton and over the festive period.
