The 17-game grind of the NFL regular season is complete, and the stage is set for what should be a thrilling postseason. Fourteen teams have made the playoffs, but only two will meet in the Super Bowl. And with Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow already sitting at home, the Super Bowl MVP is anyone’s guess.
While the coveted award is traditionally reserved for the winning team’s quarterback, there have been 25 non-quarterbacks to receive the Pete Rozelle Trophy across the 59 Super Bowls. Most recently, Cooper Kupp was named the MVP of Super Bowl LVI in 2022.

Sam Darnold (+600)
The Seattle Seahawks enter the postseason with the top seed in the NFC and will sit back and relax during their first-round bye. They’re currently listed as the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl at +350, bolstering Darnold’s odds of taking home the game’s MVP. Still, the 28-year-old has yet to win a playoff game and blew up at the wrong time last year.
Matthew Stafford (+650)
Los Angeles has looked like a true contender all season, but it couldn’t catch the Seahawks for the top spot in the NFC West. Matthew Stafford has proven capable of rising to the postseason challenge, winning the Super Bowl with the Rams in 2021. But Cooper Kupp, who caught eight passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns, was named MVP of the championship-winning effort. Still, Stafford has improved with age and seems poised to make a case for Super Bowl MVP, should the Rams make it that far.
Bo Nix (+1100)
Bo Nix had a strong second season in the NFL and helped lead the Broncos to the AFC’s top seed with a 14-3 record. Denver will enjoy a first-round bye, awaiting the winner of the game between the Texans and Steelers. The Broncos hold +650 odds of winning the Super Bowl, and Nix will be motivated to rebound from a disappointing playoff performance against the Bills last year. Fueled by an elite Denver defense, this could be Nix’s chance to lead his team to the Super Bowl and insert himself into the MVP conversation.
Josh Allen (+1200)
Josh Allen aims to seize the opportunity of not having to face Patrick Mahomes on the Chiefs to reach the Super Bowl, after coming up short against them four times in his postseason career. Buffalo has just the sixth-best odds of winning the Super Bowl at +1000, but Allen would be his team’s clear frontrunner for the award if the Bills can reach the game’s biggest stage. The reigning NFL MVP has a Herculean style of play that would surely earn him the nod if Buffalo can go all the way.
Long Shots Worth Keeping an Eye On:
Puka Nacua (+3500)
Puka Nacua cemented his place as one of the game’s top wide receivers, capping the season with an NFL-leading 129 receptions and 107.2 receiving yards per game. The Rams hold the second-best Super Bowl odds and lean on a pass-oriented attack. Nacua is the team’s WR1 and has racked up 110+ receiving yards in six games this season, including as many as 225 in Week 16 against the Seahawks. Rams receiver Cooper Kupp won the Super Bowl MVP in 2021, and Nacua could accomplish the same feat if his regular-season heroics can translate to the game’s biggest stage.
Saquon Barkley (+6500)
Saquon Barkley is aiming to help lead the Philadelphia Eagles to their second consecutive Super Bowl. Jalen Hurts took home the award last year during a historic dismantling of the Chiefs. Still, Hurts has been criticized for benefitting from talented players around him, and the MVP case would be wide open if Philadelphia returns to the Big Game. While Barkley couldn’t replicate his historic 2024 season, he’s still capable of turning any carry into a massive play. Plus, Lane Johnson’s return for the playoffs should strengthen the Eagles’ offensive line. Barkley’s season might not have gone the way he hoped, but there’s an outside chance he punctuates it with a Super Bowl MVP.
