Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball prediction, preview
If you’re into betting certain spots inT college basketball, Monday sets up very nicely for the Buckeyes. Despite Ohio State’s 10-3 record, its favored over the perfect 14-0 Cornhuskers. Nebraska has some legitimate wins on the season, including its only other true road game as a sizable underdog at Illinois.
While Nebraska is a perfect 4-0 away from home, it’s coming off of an emotional home victory over Michigan State on Friday night. The Huskers held on to win by two points in a very tight game, which was followed by a court storming. It’s a tough spot to now go on the road and play a hungry Ohio State squad.
The Buckeyes are 7-1 at home this season, but haven’t been doing well ATS — they enter Monday on a 1-4 ATS skid overall. Nebraska has lost five of its last six trips to Columbus, but it also has never been this good. The Huskers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Buckeyes, so this could be their chance to finally breakthrough outright on the road.
I’ve gone back and forth on this one. The spot screams Ohio State, but my head thinks Nebraska might just be that good …
However, I do have a lean on the total. While Nebraska is just 1-9 to the over at home, all four of its games away from home have gone over the total, and with some margin. The Huskers four away games have averaged 173.5 points, which has cleared the total by an average of 13.5 points. Win or lose, I think Ohio State should be able to dictate some pace here, which should favor points.
The Buckeyes rank 23rd in offensive rating on KenPom, but just 75th in defensive rating. I expect Ohio State to put up points at home here, and the defense should have some issues with such an explosive Nebraska offense. While betting splits are sharp to the home favorite, I’d prefer backing some points in this one.
