In Week 18, we get a clash between AFC West rivals to close out the regular season as the Los Angeles Chargers head to the Mile High City and play against the Denver Broncos. The home team remains in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the conference while the visitors rest some starters and look to get healthier for the postseason.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Denver is a massive -14 favorite at home with -1450 odds on the Moneyline. The total sits at just 37.5 combined points.
Here are the top player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Chargers vs. Broncos in Week 18.
Chargers vs. Broncos best prop bets
RJ Harvey under 14.5 rush attempts (-115)
While he’s yet to post a truly huge game on the ground, RJ Harvey is showing growth to end the regular season in his rookie campaign. The second-round halfback has shown a nose for the end zone throughout the season with 12 total touchdowns and posted 121 scrimmage yards with a score just two weeks ago against a strong Jacksonville Jaguars front seven. While the UCF product typically sees somewhere in the range of 13-19 carries as the primary back in Sean Payton’s offense, there’s reason to believe Harvey stays on the lower end of the scale this week against the Chargers. Denver will surely try and secure a bye, but keeping starters healthy and fresh-ish for the playoffs will also be a point of emphasis. Could we see more of Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie here? Absolutely. A bell-cow workload feels unlikely for Harvey given the circumstances, so watch for the young talent to stay under 14.5 rush attempts as the coaching staff protects one of the team’s key playmakers.
Trey Lance under 15.5 completions (+103)
Perhaps I’m just very bearish on Trey Lance, but the under on his completions line holds appeal in this contest. While I was fully on the train hoping he’d be a productive NFL quarterback when he entered the draft and even hoped a change of scenery with that trade to the Cowboys could turn his fortunes around, it’s tough to see a real future for him barring a wild turnaround. The sample size is admittedly small here on just 88 pass attempts, but his career completion percentage of 56.4% doesn’t spark much confidence. With that in mind, as well as the fact the Chargers likely rest key weapons, he shouldn’t get much going through the air against an elite Broncos defense. Denver allows the second-lowest completion percentage to opponents at just 58.83%, and Lance remains more of a threat with his legs than via the passing game. Sure, he could throw a ton if his team trails, but that’s not enough reason for me to fade this prop bet pick given his lack of experience and the matchup.
