UPDATE: Powell returned to the game.
Norman Powell left Saturday’s Miami Heat vs. Minnesota Timberwolves matchup with leg soreness and is questionable to return. He exited the game in the first quarter.
Powell has been an incredible addition to the Heat’s roster, as his scoring has kept the team afloat with Tyler Herro’s absence. The 32-year-old is averaging 24.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, all of which are career highs. He’s also shooting 48.1% from the field and 40.5% from distance.
This would be a major injury for the Heat if he’s sidelined for an extended period. Herro is still out, so Powell is the primary scorer alongside Bam Adebayo.
Powell recorded two points and one steal while shooting 1-of-5 from the field in six minutes during Saturday’s game against the Timberwolves.
