Tennessee Volunteers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks College Basketball prediction, preview

These two teams are ranked right next to each other in the AP Top-25, and come in with extremely similar resumes. Both SEC squads are 10-3 on the season, but I do see some slight edges to Arkansas.

Tennessee did beat a common opponent that Arkansas lost to (Houston) the only time it was priced as an underdog this season. But following that win, the Vols dropped three in a row as a favorite to Kansas (neutral), Syracuse (road) and Illinois (Nashville). While Tennessee is a perfect 8-0 at home, the struggles away from home have been very real. The Vols are 2-3 SU/ATS outside of their arena, and the only true road game to date has been at ‘Cuse — in which they lost as a 7.5-point favorite.

Meanwhile, Arkansas has really tested itself in the early going. The Hogs are also 10-3, with all three losses by single digits away from home to teams that currently rank in the Top-10 (Duke, Houston, Michigan State). Arkansas is a perfect 8-0 at home this season, including 6-2 ATS. The Hogs have a deep and athletic team, which should matchup well with the Vols.

I give Arkansas a slight edge in terms of the roster, and a pretty significant boost playing at home here. The Vols have dropped seven of their last eight trips to Fayetteville, and I expect that trend to continue on Saturday.

CBB Pick: Arkansas ML (-135)
