Another good Big 12 matchup on today’s slate sees the Oklahoma State Cowboys taking on the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 1:00 p.m. ET. Oklahoma State is 12-1 with its lone loss of the season coming against Oklahoma on December 13.
In this matchup, Texas Tech is the favorite at -11.5 with Oklahoma State being +550 to pull off the upset on DraftKings Sportsbook. Check out my best bet for today’s college basketball game between Oklahoma State vs. Texas Tech.
Oklahoma State vs. Texas Tech (1:00 p.m. ET)
Although the Cowboys have only one loss, they haven’t faced the most challenging schedule to start the season, as this is their first-ranked opponent. Since Oklahoma’s first loss of the season, they have beaten Kansas City, Cal State Fullerton, and Bethune-Cookman. This is a significant step up in competition against an elite Red Raiders team.
Texas Tech has one of the best duos in college basketball with JT Toppin and Christian Anderson. Topping averages 21 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 1.2 steals per contest. Meanwhile, Anderson is totaling 20.6 points and 7.1 assists per game. The Red Raiders’ best win of the season came on December 20 when they beat the Duke Blue Devils 82-81.
Anthony Roy is Oklahoma State’s leading scorer, averaging 17.3 points per game, and is one of five players averaging double-digit points for the Cowboys. Roy, alongside Vyctorius Miller, forms an elite backcourt, and when they play at their best, Oklahoma State has a chance against anyone.
Will Oklahoma State be able to beat Texas Tech? That will be hard to achieve, since Texas Tech has a ton of big-game experience and high-level players, but covering the spread of +11.5 is a different story. Oklahoma State’s first loss of the season was by 11 points. Also, two of Texas Tech’s last three wins have come by 11 or fewer points.
