Prediction & Best Bets
Projected final score: Georgia 24, Ole Miss 20
Moneyline: Georgia
Spread: Ole Miss +6.5
Total: Under 55.5
These teams are more equal than the 6.5-point spread suggests; expect this matchup to remain close. I am gravitating toward the under, with the game total falling under in eight of these teams’ previous nine combined games. Georgia and Ole Miss allow just 35.2 combined points on average, and the playoff intensity will make every point more difficult to come by.
Ultimately, there is more talent on this Georgia team. The Bulldogs cruised to a 43-35 win in their first regular-season encounter, but plenty has changed on both sides since then. Ole Miss found the end zone in each of their first five drives in that game, and that feels nearly impossible to replicate.
Ole Miss has not felt the loss of Lane Kiffin just yet, but all weaknesses are magnified under this stage. Look for Gunner Stockton to position Georgia for a win, and for the Bulldogs’ defensive unit to fend off the Rebels for a narrow victory.
