For this bet to hit, we need Tottenham to win the game. If it ends in a draw, the bet will void. This will be the second Thomas Frank Bowl in the last few weeks. The former Brentford manager came out on top against his former side in early December as Tottenham beat the Bees 2-0 in North London. Frank will be looking to do the double over his former side on New Year’s Day.
Brentford do sit ahead of Spurs in the table at the moment, but only a point separates the sides. Tottenham have struggled this season, as their points total and 13th-placed position suggest. On the flip side, Brentford have outperformed expectations so far this season. Many people predicted them to be in a relegation fight after the departure of Frank, but new boss Keith Andrews has them in ninth place in the table and 12 points ahead of the drop zone.
Tottenham have gotten the better of this matchup in recent seasons, winning four of the last five Premier League matchups between the sides and drawing once.
The one positive of this campaign has been their away form. Spurs have been much better on their travels compared to at home, picking up 17 of their 25 points away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. No team in the league has picked up more points on the road than Thomas Frank’s side. That should bode well for this matchup, and I would expect Tottenham to get their fifth consecutive win against the Bees.
