This week’s Monday Night Football matchup features a duel between the Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons. L.A. is a playoff lock with postseason seeding still on the line. While Atlanta’s season will come to a premature end, the franchise will still fight to pull off an upset and avoid handing its opponent an even better draft pick. There are some real stars in this game, so there’s plenty of betting value across the board here.

Blake Corum (+150)
This week, we’re taking a Rams running back to get into the end zone against Falcons defense that isn’t great at stopping the run… except it’s not Kyren Williams. Instead, look toward Blake Corum. The second-year pro has slowly earned more of a role in recent weeks, garnering 12, 11, and 14 carries over his last three games. He’s found the end zone a staggering five times in his four most recent contests, so he’s clearly running hot at the moment in what’s become something of a split backfield. Over that four-game scoring sample, Corum has handled 10 red-zone rush attempts to Williams’ 16 with six carries apiece inside the five-yard line. Atlanta allows 128.2 rushing yards per game, 25th, and the unit also falls 27th in defensive EPA/rush. It makes a lot of sense to play the value with Corum rather than his backfield mate here, especially with the playoffs looming. The team may want to protect its star halfback’s health and cede a bit more work to his backup, but a commanding lead could see even more rush attempts than usual for Corum in a positive game script.
Kyle Pitts (+205)
Who wants to play chalky anytime touchdown picks anyways? Kyle Pitts is in the midst of possibly the best stretch of his career with at least six catches in four straight contests, racking up at yardage totals of 82, 90, 166, and 57 over that span. He’s scored four touchdowns over this sample as well, with one in his most recent contest while sharing the field with Drake London and three in his explosion in a comeback win over the Buccaneers a couple weeks back. Last week was proof of concept that Pitts and London can coexist in an offense helmed by Kirk Cousins under center, and the game script on Monday Night Football leans in favor of the pass for Atlanta. The Rams are ninth in rushing yardage allowed and 12th in defensive EPA/rush, so it makes more sense for the Falcons to attack via the pass. Against an elite L.A. offense with the likely MVP Matthew Stafford, Atlanta could very well trail for much of this game anyways and air the ball out in an attempt to keep pace. The Rams sit middle-of-the-pack with 23 passing touchdowns allowed this season, and with London drawing plenty of defensive attention, Pitts could eat over the middle in this contest.
