SG/SF, Keon Ellis, Sacramento Kings at Los Angeles Lakers, $3,600
With Keegan Murray (calf) and Zach LaVine (ankle) out this past Friday vs. the Mavericks, Ellis drew the spot start and scored 34.2 FPTS across 32 minutes. The Kings won this game by six points and Ellis finished a team-best +11 in the box score, thanks to 21 points, three steals and two blocks. Ellis is a great defender who makes a significant impact on that side of the ball and with both Murray and LaVine remaining sidelined Sunday, Ellis should draw another start vs. the Lakers.
The veteran is amassing 0.84 FPTS per minute with both Murray and LaVine off the floor this season, and Ellis should see around 30 minutes vs. this Los Angeles defense that ranks 26th in rating this season. Assuming the 25-year-old starts again, Ellis should top 20 FPTS and is the top value on the slate.
C, Brook Lopez, Los Angeles Clippers vs. Detroit Pistons, $4,500
Lopez is underpriced for his current role as the Clippers’ starting center with Ivica Zubac (ankle) out. The center has missed two games in a row and as Zubac’s replacement starter, Lopez has produced 23 FPTS vs. the Rockets and 46.75 FPTS vs. the Trail Blazers.
With the Pistons in town tonight, who rank second in defensive rating this season, we can’t expect another 46.75 FPTS outburst from Lopez, but the center should be able to surpass five-times value at only $4,500. Lopez has seen 27.2 and 33.2 minutes in these two past starts, and this season, the big man is generating 0.9 FPTS per minute with a 20.4% usage rate.
