12:06 a.m. ET: MJF joins historic group with second title win
Earlier this week, MJF posted a list of wrestlers to become two-time world champions before the age of 30. MJF listed nine other wrestlers to have previously achieved this feat: Lou Thesz, Rikidozan, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuchika Okada, Yokozuna, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, and John Cena.
12:03 a.m. ET: MJF wins the AEW World Championship!
MJF defeated Samoa Joe, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Swerve Strickland to become a two-time AEW World Champion. After this victory, MJF is the fifth multi-time AEW World Champion, as he previously held the title from November 2022 to December 2023.
This match had a fast pace to start, with each wrestler getting offense in at some point. MJF began mocking Strickland, but then Swerve got payback. Five minutes into the action, all four competitors were down on the outside. At times during this match, Strickland and Page worked together until it was just them one-on-one in the ring. Page and Strickland have said they have gained respect for each other, but they are both after one thing: the AEW World Championship.
Each time someone appeared to gain momentum, another member of the match would interrupt them. A 4-way match adds a whole new level of difficulty, as it is much harder to secure the victory. The Opps came out to beat down Page and Strickland, giving Joe the advantage. But then Strickland took out Shibata and Hobbs. Strickland appeared to be closing in on a victory, but then Page and MJF interrupted.
This was one of the most star-studded main events in promotion history and lived up to previous expectations. In all title matches, all wrestlers want to win, but you could feel each member of this contest displayed an added layer of urgency.
11:30 p.m. ET: Jon Moxley speaks after winning the Continental Classic
After Moxley beat Okada to win the Continental Classic, he cut a babyface promo. Moxley thanked all the professional wrestling fans, the competitors in the Continental Classic, and his teammates in the Death Riders.
11:24 p.m. ET: Moxley defeats Okada to win the Continental Classic
After a competitive match, Jon Moxley hit Kazuchika Okada with the Death Rider to win the 2025 Continental Classic and is now the Continental Champion. Moxley has won the Continental Classic for the first time, adding to his elite resume. In AEW, Moxley has now won the World Championship, International Championship and Continental Championship.
After wrestling Kyle Fletcher earlier in the night, Moxley entered this match banged up. This was an intriguing stylistic matchup as Moxley has a hard-hitting style while Okada had a tactical approach. Okada and Moxley are already viewed as two of the greatest wrestlers in the world, having achieved so much, but they are still hungry to add to their resumes.
Okada gained the upper hand at the start of this contest as Moxley didn’t seem to be at 100 percent. But as he always does, Moxley fought through the pain, getting his offense in on Okada. Okada excels at a slow pace and made it a priority to wrestle at his pace.
Once again, the crowd was split, cheering for both Moxley and Okada. Okada was meticulously breaking down Moxley throughout this match and wasn’t rushing anything. Just like against Takeshita, Okada used his dirty tactics, distracting the referee to hit Moxley with a low blow. Then Moxley did the same thing, hitting Okada with a low blow, evening the score.

10:51 p.m. ET: Kris Statlander defeats Jamie Hayter!
Kris Statlander picked up the victory against Jamie Hayter and has successfully defended her AEW Women’s World Championship. Statlander’s title reign is off to an excellent start with title defenses over two former world champions, Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter, and current TBS Champion Mercedes Mone. This is Kris Statlander’s first win over Hayter in singles competition, as Hayter previously held a 2-0 record over her.
After a bit of a standoff at the start of the contest, the champion took over and began trash-talking. The crowd was chanting for Statlander and Hayter, with each having support from the audience. Statlander didn’t take her foot off the gas as she continued to hurt Hayter. But Hayter responded with a drop kick off the announcer’s table.
Statlander and Hayter both seemed to be battling injuries during this match. This was such a close match with both wrestlers having a ton of great moments.

10:28 p.m. ET: The next match is Kris Statlander vs. Jamie Hayter
The first of three remaining title matches is for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Kris Statlander is defending her title against former champion Jamie Hayter. This is Statlander’s fourth defense of the AEW Women’s World title.
10:25 p.m. ET: Toni Storm & The Conglomeration defeat Death Riders
In the end, Mark Briscoe hit Wheeler Yuta with a Jay Driller to win the match for the Conglomeration. This is the Conglomeration’s third consecutive victory against the Death Riders.
The Death Riders and Conglomeration have been battling for months, and the hatred was evident throughout this contest. The Death Riders are a well-oiled machine and work so well together. They would pick one opponent at a time to beat them down in the ring.
Each time the Conglomeration got something going on offense, the Death Riders responded. Storm hit Claudio Castagnoli with a DDT, but then he put her in the swing. The Death Riders’ momentum ran out towards the end of the match as the Conglomeration took over.
10:04 p.m. ET: Darby Allin defeats Gabe Kidd
Darby Allin rolled Gabe Kidd up to score the pinfall victory. As expected, Darby Allin and Gabe Kidd went to war at the beginning of this match. Kidd is a relentless competitor and never shows mercy to his opponent. Allin is a warrior who tried to fight back, but Kidd was inflicting a ton of pain.
Allin and Kidd were both bleeding, and each pushed the other to the limit. Although this was billed as a regular wrestling match, it was anything but. Allin hit Kidd with two Coffin Drops, putting him down and out.
Although Gabe Kidd isn’t an official member of the AEW roster, he makes an impact each time he steps into an AEW ring. This match was a hard-hitting contest from start to finish.

9:45 p.m. ET: The Babes of Wrath defeat Athena & Mercedes Mone
The Babes of Wrath have successfully defended their AEW Women’s Tag Team titles against Athena and Mercedes Mone. This is the Babes of Wrath’s first title defense after winning the titles on December 10 at Winter is Coming.
The inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions, the Babes of Wrath, received a big reaction from the crowd. This match was all action from the second it started. Athena, who is the current reigning ROH Women’s Champion, had an excellent showing in this match. Harley Cameron also demonstrated her versatility, playing a significant role in her team’s success. The Babes of Wrath are now 6-0 as a team in traditional two-on-two tag-team matches.

9:25 p.m. ET: Babes of Wrath vs. Mercedes Mone & Athena is up next!
The AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions, the Babes of Wrath, are defending their titles against Mercedes Mone and Athena in the next match.
9:23 p.m. ET: FTR defeats the Bang Bang Gang
FTR hit a Shatter Machine, leading to the victory over the Bang Bang Gang. This is FTR’s second consecutive title defense since winning the titles at Full Gear in November.
Since this was a Chicago Street Fight, the action quickly moved outside the ring after the bell rang. Trash cans, chairs, kendo sticks, and various other items were used in this match. In 2025, FTR proved once again that they are still the best tag team in the world and finished the year with another elite performance. This wasn’t a traditional tag team match as we are accustomed to seeing with FTR, as it featured a hardcore style.
Juice Robinson eventually got back to his feet and gave the Bang Bang Gang a much-needed boost. FTR then started targeting Robinson’s legs, severely hurting him. As Robinson was about to score the pinfall victory, Stokley took out the referee. Austin Gunn and Juice Robinson put up a good fight, but in the end, FTR’s experience was the difference maker.
8:59 p.m. ET: Jon Moxley defeats Kyle Fletcher
After a 20-plus-minute war, Jon Moxley submitted Kyle Fletcher to advance to the finals of the Continental Classic. Moxley will now face Okada for the Continental Championship later tonight.
Even though Jon Moxley is the former AEW Champion and long-time veteran, Kyle Fletcher didn’t back down from his punishment. Moxley took the fight outside the ring, beating Fletcher down, but Fletcher continued to bounce back eback and get his own offense in.
Fletcher did a good job of matching Moxley’s hard-hitting style and relentless pace in this contest. Fletcher proved once again that he isn’t just a rising star but already one of the best in AEW. Moxley’s ankle was hurt, but he was battling through the pain. Fletcher had Moxley hurt and in a submission, but then Moxley reversed it, gaining the upper hand.
Each wrestler fought through the pain at so many points in this match. Although Fletcher put on an excellent showing, Moxley proved why he is the most accomplished wrestler in AEW history. Moxley displayed his heart and fighting spirit. Worlds End is off to as good a start as there has been to a PPV in recent memory.

8:28 p.m. ET: Kazuchika Okada defeats Konosuke Takeshita
After a tremendous 17-minute match, Kazuchika Okada defeated Konosuke Takeshita after using a screwdriver behind the referee’s back. Okada will now face the winner of Jon Moxley vs. Kyle Fletcher in the final of the Contention Classic later tonight.
The crowd in Chicago was hot at the start of this match, chanting “AEW, AEW, AEW.” This match began slowly, with both wrestlers feeling each other out. Even though this is the first singles match between the two, they have shared a ring many times before.
The tension between Okada and Takeshita has been building for months and has translated into their first one-on-one match. Okada brought the action outside the ring and began to brutalize Takeshita. Okada is the more experienced wrestler, and it showed throughout the first five minutes of the contest.
Takeshita started to work his way back to his feet, initiating offense of his own. When Takeshita got going, he took over with his elite power and speed. This was an excellent match between two of the greatest in-ring wrestlers in the sport today. There were reversals as both tried to gain the upper hand throughout the contest. This was a perfect match to open Worlds End as it gave the fans everything they wanted to see and more.

8:04 p.m. ET: Okada vs. Takeshita is the first match!
AEW Worlds End is beginning with one of the two semifinal matches on this card. Two members of the Don Callis Family, Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita, are facing off in a singles match with a spot in the Continental Classic final on the line. This is the first singles match between Okada and Takeshita. The winner of this match will face the winner of Kyle Fletcher vs. Jon Moxley later tonight in the final.
