On Sunday’s NFL Week 16 slate, the Jacksonville Jaguars head from sea level to the Mile High City as they duel the Denver Broncos on the road. Trevor Lawrence has played fantastic football recently, but Bo Nix and the home team are winners of 11 straight, setting up a high-stakes game between playoff competitors.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Denver are -3.5 favorites with -180 odds on the Moneyline. Jacksonville comes in with +150 ML odds on the road with the game total set at 46.5 combined points.
Here are the top player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Jaguars vs. Broncos in Week 16.
Jaguars vs. Broncos best prop bets
Trevor Lawrence 1+ interceptions (-125)
I often tend to steer clear of interception prop bets because picks can be pretty fluky coming off tipped passes. They’re arguably less likely they happen to begin with since there’s usually just one or two in a typical game, so it’s much easier to fade yardage lines and such. However, this matchup is too good to pass up. Trevor Lawrence comes off a game with 330 passing yards and five touchdowns via the air, the best outing of his career thus far as he continues a nice stretch of play, clearly growing more confident in Liam Coen’s offense. Why are we fading him then?
The Broncos’ defense is a clear-cut top-three unit in the NFL, limiting opponents to 196.9 passing yards per game (ninth-fewest) with the third-lowest completion rate at 58.45%.While Denver’s nine interceptions rank merely middle-of-the-pack with an INT% that falls 21st league-wide, the ideas is that a dominant pass rush bullies Lawrence into making mistakes. The Broncos’ 58 sacks are tops in the NFL by a 10-sack margin and they’ll likely have a realistic shot at breaking the single-season record, too. Not to mention that a 40.5% QB pressure rate ranks second in the league, too. Keep that pressure on the Jaguars’ quarterback and force him into throwing an errant pass or two (while he already struggles with a 59.7% completion rate) and suddenly Lawrence’s 12th interception of the year becomes a real possibility against a talented batch of players in the secondary.
Courtland Sutton 70+ receiving yards (+114)
Bo Nix played lights-out football last week with a 67.6% completion rate, 302 yards and four touchdowns against a strong Packers defense. He now faces a Jaguars defense allowing 222.2 passing yards per game, 20th in the NFL. The matchup looks good, especially since Jacksonville has this pass-funnel approach that stymies the run better than any other team in the league. That sets up the Broncos to throw the ball plenty and attack a weak group of defensive backs.
It’s a little bit difficult to project which Denver wideout goes off in any given week, but Courtland Sutton sees the best chance most of the time. His 21.3% target share won’t break the slate by any means, but he sees 7.1 looks per game and produces 63.3 yards per outing with that volume. While the Jags do limit opponents to just 6.3 yards per pass, third-lowest, the veteran wideout remains a quality deep threat and Nix clearly has all the trust in the world in him. If I’m banking on any of the receivers to pop, Sutton is the one at plus odds here.
