Houston Cougars vs. Arkansas Razorbacks College Basketball prediction, preview
Houston is off to a 10-1 start to the season, but I’m not convinced this team is anywhere near as scary as the team that reached last season’s National Championship game. The Cougars dropped a neutral game in Vegas as a favorite to Tennessee as their lone loss, which is understandable. However, they also barely escaped Syracuse out in Vegas in a game that went to overtime, and clawed by Auburn by a single point.
Arkansas is extremely tested early in the season, with its losses coming as a true road game at Michigan State by just three points and a single digit loss to Duke as a 12.5-point underdog. The Hogs have sharpened themselves with those losses, since winning a pair of games as an underdog against both Louisville and Texas Tech.
John Calipari’s squad is talented, athletic, big and deep. They’ve already proven they can give anybody in the country trouble, and I think that’ll be the case when the Razorbacks face Houston on Saturday on a neutral floor in New Jersey. This game is pretty even from a metrics standpoint, with a bit of a defensive edge to the Cougars, as you’d expect.
That said, I like how Arkansas is playing much better right now, and think its top-end talent has a chance to make a more significant impact in this game. Give me the points with the Hogs, who have a legitimate chance to pull the upset. For my full analysis on this game, check out DKN Daily Bets by clicking right here.
