An ACC-SEC battle is set to kick off Saturday’s College Football Playoff triple-header. For #10 Miami, this is a chance to shock the nation following their last-minute entry into the postseason. However, earning a win won’t be easy for the Hurricanes. #7 Texas A&M has put together an 11-win campaign this season. Now, the Aggies get to host a do-or-die showdown at raucous Kyle Field.

Girard Pringle Jr. 40+ rushing yards (-112)
Miami, for all its offensive success, has dealt with its fair share of uncertainty in the backfield. RB1 Mark Fletcher Jr. has been a bit disappointing, due in part to some nagging injuries. Fellow running back CharMar Brown hasn’t capitalized with more touches, either. However, one name that’s beginning to emerge for The U is Girard Pringle Jr. Over his last three games, the freshman has recorded 247 rushing yards. Most important, he’s commanded at least ten carries in each of those outings.
At this point, making sense of who will emerge from this trio is anyone’s guess. Still, head coach Mario Cristobal will likely ride the hot hand. Since the start of November, that’s definitely been Pringle Jr. Up front, Texas A&M has had issues stopping the run. The Aggies are giving up 4.03 yards per rush attempt, fourth-worst in the SEC. Draining clock also serves the purpose of keeping a loaded TAMU offense off the field. It’s the playoffs – unexpected heroes are to be expected. Miami’s ascending freshman could become a household name on Saturday.
Kevin Concepcion 5+ receptions (-102)
Speaking of that A&M offense, quarterback Marcel Reed has impressed all year. The dual-threat has taken major strides as a passer this season. Granted, it helps having two elite pass catchers to throw to. Both Mario Craver and Kevin “KC” Concepcion have surpassed 800 receiving yards. In addition, the latter leads the SEC with nine touchdown catches. That’s enough to give any opposing defense cause for concern.
Still, it’s not as if this has been a 50/50 split in recent weeks. In four of his previous six games, Craver has failed to record more than four receptions. However, Concepcion has surpassed that mark four different times during that stretch. In a game where points could be at a premium, Reed should look towards his top red zone threat as well. Miami’s run defense is phenomenal, so the Aggies might be forced to throw more than usual. Should that occur, Concepcion should deliver another stellar stat line.
