In a matchup that once seemed improbable between Silva and Woodley, it now comes to fruition not in the Octagon but in a boxing ring. Silva enters this fight at 50 years old, while Woodley is 43. “The Spider” is the former UFC Middleweight Champion and is one of the greatest MMA fighters in history. In comparison, Woodley held the UFC Welterweight title from 2016 to 2018. Woodley has lost six consecutive fights, MMA and boxing combined, with his last victory coming against Darren Till in September 2018 at UFC 228. Silva’s latest win came against Tito Ortiz in September 2021.
Silva has the size advantage, as he is four inches taller (6’2″ vs. 5’9″), and a four-inch edge in standing reach (78″ vs. 74″). Even though Silva has more boxing experience, Woodley is seven years younger, which should benefit him.
Silva is the favorite at -240 while Woodley is a +210 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook. If Woodley is aggressive and active on his feet, moving around the ring, he should be able to find success against the older veteran. Even though Woodley took this fight on short notice, he needs the victory more, as he has discussed future plans in combat sports for 2026.
