Cedric Coward 20+ Points (+271): Coward has flashed real upside in his rookie season, including a 23-point outing with 19 combined rebounds and assists against the Clippers on Saturday. He’s averaging 13.4 PPG, but 20+ isn’t completely out of reach — he’s already hit 19+ five times and has dipped below 10 points in only six of his 26 games. His scoring talent is legit: Coward opened the year shooting 41% from three over his first 16 games and continues to show true three-level ability by comfortable pulling up, finishing through contact, and operating as a cutter when the floor tilts his way. He’s taken on more offensive responsibility whenever Ja Morant or Zach Edey sits, and that aggression tends to spike when Memphis needs a secondary creator. Yes, Minnesota owns the league’s 10th-best defense by rating (113.2), but the number still feels a touch long. If Morant (ankle) ends up limited or out, the usage bump should push Coward into more self-creation spots. At +271, there’s real value in betting on the young talent.
Donovan Mitchell 30+ Points (-174): Deja vu all over again. I circled this prop last week and said Spida was on a tear. Well, nothing’s changed. Outside of the Charlotte game where he “only” put up 17, Mitchell has been ridiculous: 28+ in five straight prior to that, and three different 42+ explosions in his last eight. The scoring versatility is what keeps this prop so playable. Mitchell’s been torching teams from all three levels — getting downhill, living in the mid-range, and staying red-hot from deep. He’s hit four or more threes in each of Cleveland’s last six road games against sub-.500 opponents, which lines up perfectly with tonight’s matchup. He’s also cleared 30+ in six of the Cavs’ last eight against losing teams, and, the last time these two met, Mitchell finished with 29. Given the form, matchup trend, and the sheer confidence he’s playing with, 30+ feels very attainable at this price.
Jaylon Tyson Under 13.5 Points (-119): The public hasn’t been eager to take the under lately, so let’s break down why it makes sense. Tyson is averaging 13.1 PPG on the season, but Sunday marked a key shift: he returned to the second unit for the first time since late November. Even with Evan Mobley (calf) out and Tyson picking up extra responsibility, his scoring has swung all over the place. He did pop for 16 in his last outing, but he failed to clear 13.5 in the two games prior, which mirrors the inconsistency that’s followed him most of the year. Tyson has the tools — strong downhill game, soft touch in the mid-range — but his usage becomes far less predictable when he’s not starting, and his efficiency tends to dip when he isn’t getting early-clock touches. The matchup against Chicago (24th in defensive rating) isn’t exactly a gauntlet, so it’s not a guarantee he slows down. But between the role change, the volatility, and the lack of steady volume, it makes sense the public is fading him tonight.
