There is another good bowl game on Wednesday night as the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns take on the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens in the 68 Ventures Bowl.
Louisiana enters as a three-point favorite with the total set at 61.5 points. This is the best college football player prop bet to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for the 68 Ventures Bowl.
Louisiana vs. Delaware Player Props
The 68 Ventures Bowl is a fascinating matchup. Delaware is in its first season at the FBS level, and, therefore, playing in its first-ever bowl game. The Fightin’ Blue Hens won six games and had a solid debut season. Meanwhile, the Ragin’ Cajuns started the season slowly, winning just three of their first nine games. However, they won their final three games to reach bowl eligibility for the eighth straight season. These two teams will now face off in Mobile, Alabama, so the crowd should be much more Louisiana-leaning. That could give the Ragin’ Cajuns an extra edge.
My favorite prop bet for this game is for Delaware quarterback Nick Minicucci to score a touchdown. Minicucci had a sensational season for the Blue Hens, finishing fifth in the nation in passing yards in his first season at the FBS level. He is one of the nation’s best passers, but he is also an underrated athlete. Phrases like “sneaky athletic” and “deceptive speed” would apply to Minicucci’s game, but largely, his football IQ of knowing when to run is his best attribute outside of his right arm.
Minicucci is not going to break long runs very often, but he has ten rushing touchdowns on the season, the most on the team. The Louisiana defense ranks 117th in defensive EPA/rush and 133rd in defensive rushing success rate. Minicucci should be able to take advantage of that terrible run defense when the Blue Hens get into the red zone and find the end zone with his legs.
