Brunson enters this NBA Cup final red hot. The guard just lit the Magic up for 40 points in the NBA Cup semifinals this past Saturday, which wasn’t an easy matchup, as Orlando ranks sixth in defensive rating this season. Brunson has now scored 33, 30, 35, and 40 points in his last four starts, which directly correlates with OG Anunoby rejoining the Knicks to begin this stretch.

Brunson and Anunoby have played 15 games together this season and Brunson has topped 30.5 points in nine of these games. With Anunoby active, Brunson is handling a 31.7% usage rate, which is an increase from the 30.3% usage rate he sees with Anunoby inactive.

The Spurs are giving up the fourth-most points to point guards this season and Brunson is an experienced player who knows how to elevate his game in the biggest moments. Just like we saw in the semifinals, Brunson should put the Knicks on his back tonight and over 30.5 points is a strong possibility for the guard.
