Tuesday night’s Salute to Veterans Bowl will give the nation a glimpse at one of the best rushing attacks in America. Most of the country isn’t tuned into C-USA action on an average Saturday, but with this being the only bowl game of the night, there will be a big audience watching the Gamecocks for the first time. This is a battle of conference runner-ups, with Jacksonville State losing the C-USA title game to Kennesaw State, and Troy losing the Sun Belt to James Madison. It should be a great game, with both teams motivated to win a bowl game after coming up short in their respective conference title games.
Jacksonville State running back Cam Cook led the nation in rushing this season. He went for 1,659 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, becoming Jacksonville State’s first-ever AP All-American. However, he was not the only 1,000-yard rusher on his own team. Quarterback Caden Creel also ran for 1,085 yards this season. That is the third-most of any quarterback in the country, behind only the Army and Navy quarterbacks, and 23rd in the country in rushing overall. As a team, the Gamecocks rushed for 258 yards per game this season, the fourth-most in the nation.

The Gamecocks should be able to take it to Troy as well and rush for at least 225 yards with their two offensive stars.
