Stumbling Eastern Conference squads look to halt their slides Monday night as the Miami Heat host the Toronto Raptors at the Kaseya Center.
The Raptors (15–11, 5th East) and Heat (14–11, 6th East) have each dropped four straight, rough stretches capped by recent NBA Cup losses to the Knicks and Magic, respectively. Still, a six-day layoff could be just what both teams needed to steady themselves before it’s too late.

Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Miami enters as a 5.5-point home favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, while Toronto is listed as a +185 underdog. The game’s total is set at 234.5 points.

After a strong start to the season that was punctuated by a nine-game winning streak, the Raptors completely unraveled after RJ Barrett went down on Nov. 23 with a knee injury. Toronto has lost six of its last nine games, most recently getting thumped by the Knicks at home.
Still, the Raptors maintain the necessary tools to bounce back. Toronto boasts strong ball movement with an offensive attack anchored by forward Brandon Ingram, who leads the team with 21.5 points per game. The former second overall is riding the momentum from back-to-back 30-pieces.
Meanwhile, Scottie Barnes continues to assert himself on both ends of the floor. The reigning Eastern Conference Defensive Player of the month is the only player in the league to record more than 100 rebounds, 30 steals, and 30 blocks this season.
Toronto also receives strong contributions from Jakob Poeltl and Immanuel Quickley, who lead the team in rebounds and assists, respectively. And against New York, Jamal Shead dropped a career-high 18 points in his first start of the season.
Miami Heat Preview
The Heat have regressed a bit from their scorching start to the season. While Miami still ranks third in points per game and first in pace, its offensive rating has fallen out of the top ten and now sits at a middling 13th.
The offense is largely carried by the sizzling guard tandem of Norman Powell and Tyler Herro, who are each averaging over 23 points per game on 50% from the floor and 40% from deep. Facilitating the action is Davion Mitchell, a true playmaker who leads the team with 7.8 assists a night.
Bam Adebayo also factors in 19 points a night, while anchoring the NBA’s fifth-best defense alongside seven-foot sophomore Kel’el Ware.
Returning to South Beach after a long break could be just what the Heat needs, as they boast a 10–3 record at home this season — compared to Toronto’s turbulent 7–5 mark outside of Canada.
Raptors vs. Heat Pick, Best Bet
The Heat are good at home — but far from invincible. Their last outing at the Kaseya Center ended in a 16-point blowout loss to the lowly Sacramento Kings, who arrived in Miami also riding a four-game skid.
A near week-long layoff for both teams should see each side at full strength, a factor that could favor Toronto. Brandon Ingram is virtually unguardable when he’s on — and he has been. With a two-way menace like Scottie Barnes beside him, the Raptors should be able to compensate for the absence of RJ Barrett and work their way back into the win column.
