The final game on Monday night’s NBA schedule pits a pair of underperforming Western Conference teams against each other on the West Coast. The Los Angeles Clippers are just 6-19 on the campaign with a group of aging veterans led by James Harden. Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies are 11-15 overall but 7-3 across their last 10 outings, and Ja Morant just returned last game after an extended injury absence.

One of the few bright spots for the Clippers this season, Ivica Zubac is nearly matching the career-best numbers he posted last year with 16.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. One of the NBA’s most dominant big men on the boards, he’s recorded double-digit rebounds in 17 of his 25 appearances thus far with 12 or more boards in 12 of those games. Beyond his own ability on the glass and massive seven-foot, 240-pound frame, there’s more reason to take the big man’s rebounding prop here. The Grizzlies rank seventh in REB% at 51.5%, but they’ll operate without center Zach Edey for the second straight game as he deals with an ankle injury. The big man pulls down 11.1 rebounds per game, significantly more than Memphis’ next-closest player Santi Aldama, who averages 6.5. Zubac should feast in this spot against a weakened frontcourt likely headlined by Jock Landale. I’m going with 12+ at -137 odds as a builder in parlays, but laddering this line up makes sense as well for a better payout.
Jaren Jackson Jr. 17+ points (-126)
While not star scorer by any means, Jaren Jackson Jr. remains a key cog for this Grizzlies roster on both ends of the floor. The two-way big man averages 16.8 points per game, and while he’s hit a bit of a rough stretch over his last five or so outings, he’s bound to bounce back to his traditional form soon. He’s still logged 17+ points in 14 of 23 possible contests this season, including 14 of his first 18 prior to this cold streak. Jackson Jr. still averages the second-most shot attempts of any Memphis player with 13.4 per game, maintaining his place as a clear second option behind Morant. The Clippers’ defense sits 18th in opponent points per game allowed, and Edey’s absence leaves the unit without its standout paint protector as well. With the benefit of a positive matchup, expect Jackson Jr. to get back to his typical self tonight.
