The Dallas Cowboys will host the Minnesota Vikings in an NFC showdown in Week 15’s edition of Sunday Night Football. DraftKings is offering some huge Showdown contests for this matchup ,and below, I’ll provide three of my favorite DFS options for this slate on DraftKings.
Set your DraftKings fantasy football lineups here: NFL Showdown $1M Sunday Night Showdown [$250K to 1st] (MIN @ DAL)
WR, CeeDee Lamb, $15,000 CPT, $10,000 FLEX
Lamb missed part of the team’s preparation for this week under the NFL concussion protocol, but he has been cleared to return and does not have an injury designation for this matchup against Minnesota. Before his concussion last Thursday against the Lions, Lamb was on his way to his best game of the season. He hauled in six of his eight targets for 121 yards, and he almost came down with a touchdown on the play in which he was injured.
Lamb has over 21 fantasy points in each of his last two games and has averaged 20.5 fantasy points in his five home games this season. He’s produced an average of 6.4 catches for 98.8 yards per home game, with two of his three touchdowns at home as well.
With plenty of noise around George Pickens’ effort, look for Dak Prescott to go back to his old reliable option in Lamb, who continues to be one of the top receivers in the NFL. Even in a tough matchup against the Vikings’ secondary, he has both a high floor and a high ceiling due to his typical workload. Lamb typically delivers in primetime matchups like this one, so I expect him to come through again on Sunday night.
RB, Aaron Jones Sr., $9,300 CPT, $6,200 FLEX
On the other side, another veteran option who I think you should consider including is Aaron Jones Sr. of the Vikings. The Cowboys have given up the third-most fantasy points per game to running backs this season, allowing 14 running back touchdowns in 13 games and an average of 93.3 rushing yards and 48.2 receiving yards per game to the position.
Jones has played more snaps than Jordan Mason in each of the last five weeks, even though he has been playing through a shoulder injury. He has been losing some work near the goal line, but has typically stayed involved as a receiver, with multiple catches in six straight games before failing to catch his only target last week.
While he hasn’t had a monster game this season, Jones is getting most of the work in the Vikings’ backfield and has a great matchup. Jones has absolutely demolished Dallas in his career, with 62 carries for 370 yards and six touchdowns in three games against the Cowboys. He seems very affordable given his workload and matchup, making him my top mid-priced must-play on Sunday Night Football.
K, Brandon Aubrey, $8,100 CPT, $5,400 FLEX
DraftKings hasn’t included kickers in classic contests for several years, but if you still believe that kickers are people too, showdown contests are perfect for you! Aubrey is a very solid pick at this price point as well, since he brings a very high ceiling and a solid floor. The Cowboys should be able to put up points this week against the Vikings, and Aubrey should be very involved in the scoring.
The Vikings have allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to kickers this season, and Aubrey has proven to be one of the best. He nailed all five of his field goals last week in Detroit for a season-high 23 FPTS.
He’s averaging a very solid 11.1 fantasy points per game on the year and has at least nine fantasy points in five of his last eight games. He’s been excellent indoors at home, and he should be able to deliver great value at only $5,400 in a flex spot. It’s not even unrealistic to consider him for a Captain’s Pick after last week’s fantasy point production.
