The Bills are two games behind the Patriots in the AFC East, making this rivalry contest of utmost importance. Buffalo is most likely headed for a Wild Card berth, but any chance at the division crown starts with a victory on Sunday.
Buffalo is a 1.5-point favorite and -120 on the moneyline, while New England is +100 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 49.5 points.
Here are my top Josh Allen prop bets for the Week 15 Bills vs. Patriots matchup on Sunday.
Best Josh Allen Prop Bets
Allen has been second a lot of times throughout his NFL career. Whether it’s MVP voting, AFC championships or just quarterback rankings.
Typically it’s been Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs who have kept the Bills from reaching their full potential. This year, Kansas City has fallen flat, but the Patriots returned to the top of the conference, leaving Buffalo as a likely Wild Card team.
Allen is still playing terrific football, but he’s got an upward battle yet again. Drake Maye and the Patriots host this matchup in what’s a must-win for Buffalo to have a chance at winning the division.
Luckily, Allen is coming off an excellent performance against Cincinnati last week. The Patriots are a formidable opponent, but Allen seems to be in good form. He completed 22-of-28 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing for one touchdown — his second consecutive game with a rushing score.
An Allen anytime touchdown is typically a great bet, especially at -115 value, but there are two things in the way. James Cook and the Patriots’ run defense. Cook and Allen share rushing touchdown opportunities, making it a toss-up at times for who’s going to get the score. That’s the case every week, however.
New England’s run defense is elite, holding Allen and Cook to 102 rushing yards on 24 carries in the first matchup of the season. The Patriots won that round and have improved since. This Week 15 game is also in Foxborough.
Instead of the anytime touchdown, I’m taking Allen to throw for two passing touchdowns. The Patriots’ pass defense ranks 19th in passing touchdowns, 14th in passing yards and 16th in pass attempts allowed. Meanwhile, the run defense ranks third in rushing yards and second in rushing touchdowns and carries.
