Earlier this week, a new fight was added to this card, as King Green faces UFC debutant Lance Gibson Jr. in a three-round Lightweight contest. Green is 13-12-1 in the UFC, and this will be the 61st fight of his professional MMA career. Gibson Jr. is 9-1 with seven finishes and competed in Bellator from 2019 to 2023. Since he left Bellator in 2023, Gibson won two bouts by finish in 2024, but hasn’t fought since November 2024.
Check out my best bet for King Green vs. Lance Gibson Jr. at the final UFC Fight Night of 2025.
King Green to Win by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (+150)
Experience-wise, this is a complete mismatch, as Green is one of the longest-tenured UFC fighters, having been with the promotion since 2013. Green has faced extreme competition in the UFC, and his last two losses were to No. 14 Mauricio Ruffo and No. 5 Paddy Pimblett, who is fighting for the Interim title in January. Although he has lost two consecutive bouts, Green hasn’t suffered three straight defeats since 2017.
Green is a -218 favorite with Gibson being the underdog at +180 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Both fighters stand 5’10” with Gibson having a slight reach advantage (72.5 vs. 71″).
Win or lose, when Green fights, it is likely to end in a finish. That is because seven of his last 10 bouts have not gone to the judges’ scorecards. In Green’s career, 20 of his 21 victories have come by finish, with eight of his 17 losses being via knockout or submission.
Green has won following a two-fight losing streak the following three times and has shown an elite ability to bounce back. Gibson is talented but has faced a tough veteran on Green’s level. Green is an unorthodox fighter and is well-rounded, making it hard to predict his gameplan.
