RB Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks: Fantasy Football Running Backs to Start or Sit in Week 15

RB Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks: Fantasy Football Running Backs to Start or Sit in Week 15

Published:

By: Jeff Pratt

Heading into Week 15 of the 2025 NFL season, workloads, snap shares and more trends have been established across the league’s backfields. The fantasy RB landscape hasn’t played out as expected due to injuries, leaving fantasy managers with plenty of tough decisions to make. With that in mind, let’s break down my fantasy football RB start/sit Week 15 picks.

Start ‘Em: Rhamondre Stevenson (New England Patriots) vs. Buffalo Bills

TreVeyon Henderson truthers, look away. Whether you like it or not, the Rhamondre Stevenson show is returning to air.

While Henderson is still a massively important piece in New England’s offense (and should be started again this week undoubtedly), there’s just something about the veteran presence that appeals to Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels. In Stevenson’s second game back from injury, he started, out-snapped and out-touched the rookie. 15 touches, 80 yards. As long as he’s healthy, Rhamondre is going to be a vital member of McDaniels’ game plan.

Last time New England took the field against Buffalo, Stevenson was in the midst of his atrocious fumbling woes, yet still earned two goal-line opportunities and cashed in both times. The Bills are surrendering the seventh-most fantasy points to RBs and fifth-most rushing yards per game. I expect 15-20 touches for Stevenson, giving him solid RB2 value.

Sit’ Em: Kimani Vidal (Los Angeles Chargers) at Kansas City Chiefs

The Chargers eased Omarion Hampton back in his return to action on Monday night. The rookie only played 31% of offensive snaps but made the most of his touches, averaging 4.31 yards per carry and finding the end zone through the air.

Vidal, meanwhile, played 69% of snaps and amassed 11.4 fantasy points. For managers thinking about keeping him in their lineups next week, numbers can be deceiving. Vidal was far less efficient with his carries, averaging 3.14 yards per attempt. If it weren’t for a massive 60-yard reception, we’d be talking about a definitive dud performance.

After getting back into the swing of things, Hampton should begin to take over as the lead rusher again. Vidal will likely see a dip in opportunities against a strong run defense in Kansas City, putting him firmly in sit territory.

Start ‘Em: Devin Neal (New Orleans Saints) vs. Carolina Panthers

With Alvin Kamara sidelined, Devin Neal has looked like the future of the New Orleans Saints’ backfield.

The rookie has done it all over the last three weeks, showcasing elite receiving upside, and most recently taking on a bellcow’s workload. Neal rushed 19 times for 70 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers, playing a massive role in their improbable upset over Baker Mayfield and company.

Sit ‘Em: Aaron Jones (Minnesota Vikings) at Dallas Cowboys

Jordan Mason is making it very hard to justify starting Aaron Jones in most fantasy leagues at the moment. The general state of the Vikings’ offense is also playing a role in those frustrations, to say the least.

Jones saw 14 touches against the Commanders in arguably J.J. McCarthy’s best outing as a pro, and yet he managed just 7.6 fantasy points. It was Mason who found the end zone. This was the third straight contest with fewer than 10 points for the veteran.

Over their last three games, the Cowboys have allowed the eighth-fewest rushing yards per contest. Across their last four, they are surrendering the fewest fantasy points to opposing backfields. This is a unit that has turned things around and now looks like a matchup you should entirely avoid unless an elite running back is suiting up against them. Unfortunately for Jones, that label does not apply to him anymore.
