The Texans went into Arrowhead Stadium and defeated the Chiefs this past Monday night, but Marks ($5,600) and Chubb ($4,600) both walked away beat up. Chubb exited the game early with a ribs injury and while Marks finished the game, he is dealing with a knee injury. At Wednesday’s practice, both Marks and Chubb were listed as DNP.
Sitting second in the AFC South at 8-5 and one game back of the Jaguars, this Sunday’s matchup vs. the Cardinals is another must-win for the Texans. Marks and Chubb both missing practice Wednesday is concerning and they both will need to get at least one limited session in Thursday or Friday to have a real chance of playing Sunday. Given that Chubb exited last week’s game after only eight snaps, the veteran feels unlikely to play. Marks on the other hand has a better chance, as he was able to finish last week’s contest, but a knee injury for the rookie is worrisome nonetheless.
If both Marks and Chubb end up inactive, Ogunbowale ($4,000) would likely operate as Houston’s starting back, which would make him an attractive RB3/FLEX play in this strong matchup vs. an Arizona defense that is giving up the second-most yards per rush over the last three weeks (5.3). The Texans are a 9.5-point favorite and carry a 26.5-point implied team for this contest on DraftKings Sportsbook, so this is a terrific situation for whoever starts at running back for the Texans.
Ogunbowale would likely see 15-20 touches if both Marks and Chubb were out, and while Ogunbowale has only seen nine touches this season, he has been productive, averaging 1.88 FPTS per touch. With Joe Mixon inactive in Week 5 last season, Ogunbowale drew his lone start of the season and he turned 21 touches into 87 yards vs. the Bills, resulting in 14.7 FPTS.
Ogunbowale will have similar upside this weekend if both Marks and Chubb are sidelined, and stashing him on your bench to be prepared for that possible situation is a totally viable move for the fantasy football playoffs this weekend, that could really pay off.
