Bijan Robinson More Than 0.5 Rushing + Receiving Touchdowns
It has been a disastrous season for the Falcons. Injuries, close losses and bad coaching have resulted in this team sitting at 4-9 heading into this game. Drake London has been great when healthy and some of the young defensive pieces have shown a lot of potential, but Bijan Robinson has been the clear MVP of this team. Despite having his starting quarterback get injured and a struggling passing game allowing defenses to key in on him, Robinson has been sensational. He leads the NFL in scrimmage yards this season, averaging 129.5 scrimmage yards per game. He is a dynamic rusher who can break long runs out of nowhere. Robinson is also the team’s best receiver when Drake London isn’t on the field. Kirk Cousins has not been able to generate a downfield passing attack since taking over, making Robinson his go-to target in the short passing game. The Falcons’ offense is in disarray, and their best chance of scoring is on a special play from Robinson. Tampa Bay ranks 23rd in the NFL in scoring defense, so the Falcons should be able to generate a couple of touchdowns, with Robinson being the most likely touchdown scorer.
Bucky Irving More Than 0.5 Rushing + Receiving Touchdowns
Bucky Irving has already made an impact since returning to the Buccaneers. After missing two full months of action, Irving returned two weeks ago against the Cardinals. While he is clearly still working himself up to game speed, he has added a dynamic out of the backfield that Tampa Bay has been missing. Irving has exactly 81 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in each of his first two games back, turning in nearly identical performances. Irving’s usage rate should only increase as his game fitness gets back to its peak. The Falcons struggle against the rush, ranking 24th in defensive EPA/rush and 26th in defensive rushing success rate. Irving should be able to break a couple of long runs in this game and possibly take one to the end zone. Irving can also score in the passing game, like he did last week against New Orleans. Even in a goal-line situation, Irving should be getting most of the touches for Tampa Bay. He should make it three straight games with a touchdown since returning from injury against this struggling Falcons team.
Tyler Allgeier Less Than 26.5 Rushing Yards
Tyler Allgeier has been a solid change of pace back behind the league’s scrimmage yards leader this season. Allgeier is a more physical runner between the tackles than Bijan Robinson, which can be useful for Atlanta against certain opponents. However, the Buccaneers are not one of those opponents. Tampa Bay is elite against the rush, ranking fourth in both defensive EPA/rush and defensive rushing success rate. Vita Vea is still one of the best defensive tackles in football and clogs up the middle of the line of scrimmage. Vea and the Tampa Bay front seven are designed to stop exactly what Tyler Allgeier wants to do. The Falcons will likely have a pass-heavy attack in this game, especially because they are likely to be playing from behind. However, even when they do run the football, it should be with the dynamic Bijan Robinson, who can bounce outside and make plays in space rather than run between the tackles. Allgeier has gone under this number in four of his past seven games and should do so against this tough Tampa Bay defense as well.
