BREAK IT DOWN:
(stats taken from DraftKings Sportsbook’s Stats Hub)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 30+ Points (-158): The reigning MVP hasn’t slowed down at all, averaging 32.8 PPG and clearing 20+ points in every game this season. Phoenix has been solid defensively — allowing just 113.5 points per game (8th) with a 113.4 defensive rating (12th) — but the matchup trends still lean heavily toward SGA. According to DraftKings Sportsbook Stats Hub, Gilgeous-Alexander has dropped 35+ points in six of his last seven meetings with the Suns and has hit 2+ threes in 13 of his last 16 against them. With four 33+ point outings over his last five games, I’m siding with the public and backing SGA 30+ points tonight.
Deandre Ayton Points Under 13.5 Points (-108): Ayton hasn’t been a model of consistency this season, but he’s settling into his role alongside the Lakers’ Big 3 of Luka Dončić, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves. Over his last 10 games, Ayton is averaging 15.0 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks, and he draws a favorable matchup against a Spurs team still without Victor Wembanyama. San Antonio is giving up a massive 76.0 points in the paint per game, which sets up plenty of scoring opportunity for Ayton. Still, the public isn’t buying in. Ayton has gone over 13.5 points in only two of his last four games, though he did put up 22 points the last time these teams played. I’m not fully siding with the public here, but this remains an intriguing prop — one that has a real path to the under depending on usage and pace.
Luka Doncic 35+ Points (-101): Sure, 30+ points feels a little too chalky tonight, so let’s crank it up. The public is backing the Lakers’ newest star to reach 35+ points, a number he’s already cleared 10 times this season. And why not again? Dončić has scored 31+ in eight straight games and now draws a soft matchup against a Spurs team allowing 124.7 points per game over its last three — the fourth-worst mark in the league. With Victor Wembanyama sidelined for 11 straight games, San Antonio ranks 22nd in defensive rating, giving Dončić plenty of room to erupt. It’s also worth noting he leads the league with 35.0 PPG and has hit 35+ in three of his last five. All signs point to another big scoring night from Luka.
