Best NHL props for Tuesday 12/9/25
Jamie Benn 1+ Point (+125)
The veteran winger has notched a point in 7-of-10 games since making his season debut four weeks ago. Benn has found success on the first line alongside Roope Hintz and Jason Robertson and draws a matchup against a Jets team that hasn’t looked the same without Connor Hellebuyck between the pipes. Since Hellebuyck’s last start on Nov. 15, the Jets have allowed 3.36 goals per game, a 0.58 goal-per-game increase. All nine of Benn’s points have come when playing 5v5, too, and he ranks first in 5v5 points per 60 as a result. Across the last 10 games, Dallas ranks second in 5v5 goals for per 60 and Winnipeg ranks 21st in 5v5 goals against per 60.
Connor McDavid 2+ Points (+100)
The Oilers have scored 15 combined goals in back-to-back home games and draw a matchup against one of the worst goaltending teams in the league in the Sabres. McDavid has cleared this line in 7-of-12 home games this season, including six points in the past two games. Tonight, he’ll face the Sabres, who rank first in 5v5 goals against per 60 and third in goals against per 60. Edmonton lost 5-1 the last time it faced Buffalo, but the Sabres are a putrid 2-9-2 on the road this season, and the Oilers are 4-2-0 while averaging 4.7 goals per game across their last six games.
Nathan MacKinnon 2+ Points (-110)
In what world does one fade the NHL’s leading point-getter against a Predators squad that ranks second-to-last in goals allowed per game? MacKinnon has been more of a cash cow when playing at home this season, but he has still cleared this line in 15-of-29 games, including six of the past 10 meetings against Nashville. The Avalanche rank first in 5v5 goals for per 60, 5v5 xGoals %, and 5v5 Corsi %, which is bad news for a Predators team that ranks second in 5v5 goals against per 60. MacKinnon ranks second in the NHL in 5v5 points per 60, and should be able to pad his stats with a day’s rest.
