Washington Commanders’ star quarterback Jayden Daniels left today’s matchup due to a left elbow injury. Daniels threw an interception and was shoved to the turf while attempting to chase Andrew Van Ginkel down, landing on his elbow awkwardly. He is listed as questionable to return.
This is the same elbow that Daniels dislocated against the Seahawks in Week 9. He missed the past four games, but made his return to the field today despite Washington’s 3-9 record.
Daniels also suffered a knee sprain in Week 2 which caused him to miss two games. The reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year has played in just six games this season, and taken a step back from his stellar first season. He has played in six games leading into today’s matchup, completing 62.5% of his pass attempts for 1,184 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions while adding 262 rushing yards and a pair of scores on the ground.
