Update: Wagner has been ruled out of the game with a leg injury and will be re-evaluated once the team return’s to Orlando.

Orlando Magic star Franz Wagner suffered a knee injury and left Sunday’s matchup with the Knicks. Wagner landed awkwardly coming down on a dunk attempt and needed help to the locker room in what looked to be a left knee injury.

Wagner had tallied seven points and three rebounds across the opening seven minutes before the injury. The 24-year-old is in the midst of another stellar season, posting averages of 23.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists across his opening 23 games.

The Magic are off to a 14-9 start to the season and currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference. After making a big trade for Desmond Bane in the offseason, they joined the expected list of contenders. While Orlando has battled some early ups and downs, it still holds the fourth-best odds of winning the Eastern Conference at +700 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

A significant injury to Wagner would be a massive hit to their outlook, and his status will be monitored from here.
